Hannah Cridford: 15 Years On

A Scholarship That Changed Everything

Hannah Cridford, CBMT scholarship recipient and Art Psychotherapist

Hannah Cridford, Art Psychotherapist — CBMT Scholar 2010

"Over 15 years after receiving the CBMT scholarship at Goldsmiths, University of London, I wanted to share my story and the lasting difference it has made."

Hannah's first year at Compton Care hospice in Wolverhampton was funded by CBMT — a hospice that had never had art therapy before.

That single year of funding planted a seed that grew into eight years of meaningful work: individual therapy for the most complex patients, groups for inpatients and the bereaved, student placements, and staff wellbeing support.

When Hannah moved on, the hospice didn't just replace her — they expanded the role.

"None of this legacy would exist without CBMT's initial belief and investment."

"I feel moved and privileged to have done this work, and I carry those experiences with me always."

"My heartfelt thanks to Sir Michael and the Trustees of the Corinne Burton Memorial Trust."
